On October 5th, the Notre Dame Tech Forum officially kicked off their new Chicago chapter with a thought leadership panel, A Force for Good: Ethical Business Leadership in the Chicago Tech Ecosystem. Around 50 ND and SMC alumni gathered for the panel, Q&A and networking.
The goal of the Tech Forum is to connect Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s alumni with each other and with the broader Chicago tech ecosystem—creating a space to learn from one another, build community, and think about how we can use technology and business as a force for good.
At the heart of the evening was a question inspired by Mendoza’s “Grow the Good in Business”: What does it look like to “grow the good” for those working in tech?
Ashley Hovorka (SMC ‘19) moderated a conversation with ND Professor Dr. John Lalor (ND ‘11), Dr. Victoria Zellmer, PhD (SMC ‘12 and ND ‘17), CEO of Estrigenix Therapeutics, and Cristin Pacifico Gardner (ND ‘15), VP of Investments at Builders Vision. It was a great conversation with an engaging audience Q&A at the end.
