The SMC Chicago East Club had an unprecedented 18 Belles for our November book club meeting to discuss THE WOMEN by Kristin Hannah as a part of the One Saint Mary's, One Book initiative. This was our largest Chicago Book Club meetup to date!
This is our highest rated book and Kristin Hannah remains a top author for the group. Many of us didn't know a lot about the Vietnam War prior to reading this book, and we all appreciated the intense research and writing style to tell the story of women in the war.
We also had our annual Booksgiving Potluck! This year we honored all 12 books on our 2025 list by bringing a dish, dessert or drink inspired by each of the books. Thank you to everyone for getting so creative to bring our Booksgiving to life! It was a delicious and fun evening.
