Thank you to everyone who came out to our Founders’ Day Celebration! We had a fantastic group of 24 Belles from all different class years gather at Malloy, Class of 2010, house in Hyde Park. Mallory’s house was decked out for Halloween and even featured a skeleton in a SMC hat and sweatshirt! In addition to the spooky decor, Mallory had some amazing SMC history and memorabilia on display including old campus postcards, books by Sister Madeleva, and autographed pieces.
We enjoyed a delicious brunch of Stan’s donuts, egg bites, bagels, lox, croissants, chicken salad, yogurt parfaits, coffee, tea and mimosas. There were also a few fun raffle items including SMC silver earrings, a Chicago puzzle, a stack of cookbooks, a Jeni’s ice cream basket, gift cards to Levain Bakery and Molly’s cupcakes, a wine basket and a Lululemon water bottle and clutch. Thank you to all the Belles who donated raffle items and to all the Belles who purchased raffle tickets at the event.
We ended the event with some team trivia! Everyone got into groups of 3-4 and competed against each other with fun categories including the Founding of Saint Mary’s'/the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Women’s History, Numbers related to Saint Mary’s, Chicago trivia, and fun facts about the College. While the questions were tricky, everyone had a great time and learned some new fun facts.
Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their love for Saint Mary’s! If you were unable to attend and would like to donate to the SMC Chicago Endowed Scholarship, you can donate at any time through our website.
