Our book club met on August 13th to discuss our August pick. We wanted to read a book either set in Chicago or written by a Chicago author, so we read When Franny Stands Up by Eden Robins.

We had a group of 15 Belles attend for a fun evening of Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches, a Chicago hot dog bar and some chocolate cake. And of course, we had to have the New Heights podcast premiere on in the background to hear the breaking news about the new Taylor Swift album. Thank you Erica for hosting us!

In general, the book was not very well-loved. While many of us were so interested on paper, unfortunately, the read just fell flat. We felt it could have been stronger as a series of short stories. However, it led to a lively discussion and recap. And one exciting discovery in the book was a friend of the main character who attended Saint Mary's!
